JOEY SAMSON'S 'MITATE' COLLECTION

As I was about to take another sip from my coffee cup, I heard my name in the distance and it sounded so familiar and confident. I looked up, dropped my jaw (thankfully not my cup) and saw Leo Espinosa whose piercing eyes were headed and focused straight at me as he walked closer in some kind of a singular sensational stride. I grabbed him for a photo op since his curly red hair never fails to amuse me! :)

Then I saw my friend JC Buendia who came over to take a seat to my right since the table was still unoccupied. I mentioned that until now I haven't made myself a nice knee-length black lace dress. I always do something other than what I propose to do. Hello. JC has been one of my karaoke mates ever since. We then shifted our fashion mode onto topics of song numbers. And then all of a sudden, the person assigned to the table beside us arrived.

I was there for Fashion Watch week to see Joey Samson's collection. Over high tea again, I sat there at the lobby lounge of the Makati Shangri-La Hotel waiting for the first designer's collection to begin (Ivar Aseron) while trying to enjoy my tower of pastries. With a delay due to heavy rains- the show started late.

As usual, I shot some favorite pieces. There was lots of frizzy big hair and chunky stilettos! And of course extremely tall and leggy models doing some justice for all. Joey has that very interesting mix of things going on. It's like seeing classics in a different light. And that's how he envisioned this collection I believe. This time, with a little hint of Japanese flavor.

Here I am with Leo!

This was my sister's cappuccino. I never got to shoot my cup of brewed coffee.

I don't think I can have another one of their breads with smoked salmon. It's too pumpernickel-y.

The leaflet that explained Joey's design philosophy for the collection we were about to see.

It's JC flashing his big pearly whites! Wait. They're more pearly than white! HAHAHA!

Me and my sister. Again! No more Bangkok shots! HAHA!

Some of the pieces of Ivar Aseron. The back details always intrigued me.
